Standard Bank lets you approve DebiCheck payments easily, either through their mobile app or by simply using your phone! This guide will show you how for both methods.

Using the Standard Bank Mobile App:

  1. Get the SMS: You’ll get a text from Standard Bank about a DebiCheck needing your approval.
  2. Open the App: Launch the Standard Bank mobile app on your phone.
  3. Find the Approval: Look for a message saying a debit order needs your review. Click the link to see it.
  4. Check the Details: Click “View Request” to see the information about the DebiCheck.
  5. Approve or Reject: Decide if you want to allow this payment. You can choose “Accept” or “Reject.”
  6. Confirm Approval: If you accept, a confirmation message will pop up. Click “Accept Mandate Confirmation.”
  7. Enter Your PIN: Standard Bank will send a one-time code (OTP) to your phone. Enter this code to confirm your approval.

Using USSD (without the app):

  1. Get the SMS: You’ll get a text from Standard Bank with a USSD code to approve a DebiCheck.
  2. Dial the Code: Enter the USSD code (*120*2345#) on your phone’s keypad.
  3. Choose DebiCheck: Select option 1 when prompted for DebiCheck transactions.
  4. Enter Your PIN: Enter your CSP (Customer Selected PIN) when requested.
  5. Select the Mandate: Choose the specific DebiCheck you want to approve. You’ll see the details of the payment.
  6. Approve the Payment: If everything looks good, select “Accept” to approve the DebiCheck.
  7. Get a Reference Number: Once approved, you’ll receive a reference number confirming your approval.
